Support Vacancies:

We are currently seeking to fill 1 new support position. Our Support Teams provide beneficial services to customers and our Sales Teams in a variety of ways and provide an important revenue stream for us.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate good interpersonal and strong diagnostic/problem solving skills, have a flexible approach and be customer focused. You should also have a full driving licence, preferably clean and a valid passport, as overseas travel may be required.

Special Projects Engineer - Edgecam/ Wakefield

Reporting to the Support Services Manager, this role will undertake special projects and bespoke programming and application services for customers and provide the UK & International sales teams with hi-end technical assistance when required. Duties will include ensuring code-generators and special-projects are delivered to the customer in a timely manner and training of other team members, performing product demonstrations and assisting with sales and marketing projects, including exhibitions when needed.

Your qualification should be in Engineering, Science or Maths discipline; preferably with mechanical/production engineering or computing/IT with programming qualification supported with 3 years relevant commercial experience. An understanding of CAD/CAM software would be an advantage. You must have C++ development skills and experience in various high level languages eg: VB, Java.  Experience in using and deploying APIs in a graphics application will be an advantage.

We are currently seeking to fill 2 new product development positions. Our product development teams ensure that we continue to produce the best CAD/CAM solutions in the world.

Post Processor Engineer - Radan/Bath

We are currently seeking a Post Processor Engineer, to work as part of the Sales process and Support function, to primarily supply/create Post Processors and Configuration files to meet customer requirements for machine operations. The duties will also include undertaking Post Processor investigations and to write software to make new or modify existing Post Processors as well as fix bugs of existing Post Processors to support new and existing customers.

Good A Levels essential, particularly Maths, but preferred candidates will have HNC or higher level qualification Engineering and be experienced in programming preferably post processors or operations of Sheet Metal CNC Machines including a good understanding of G Codes. You will have the ability to write computer software and your Programming Language Skills will include Visual Basic & C; if you have experience of Radan MAC, then this will give you a distinct advantage. Must be able to communicate well with others; especially customers.

Candidates will need have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to demonstrate good problem solving skills, be customer focused and detail conscious and be able to plan and organise activities to ensure the delivery of customers’ requirements within the necessary timescales.

Senior Software Engineer - Reading

We are seeking applications for the above post to design, develop and maintain code for our Edgecam product.  This requires a high degree of technical ability, balanced with commercial awareness, self motivation and discipline to achieve development plans in accordance with the company’s overall development strategy.

Based in our Reading office, you will be a key member of the development team, reporting to the Software Development Manager. In the course of developing quality commercial software, your responsibilities will include liaising with the Product Manager and support staff to implement product requirements and giving technical input into the product direction.

You’ll have a minimum of 5 years commercial programming experience with a relevant degree (1st Class, Masters or Doctorate preferred) in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or Physics, or able to demonstrate a proven track record of achievement in application design/development bringing commercial advantage/competitive edge. Your skills must include C/C++ and either MFC, or SQL development skills/experience. Ideally you will have hands on knowledge of CAD Kernel APIs, Windows GUI programming, OpenGL 3D Graphics, .NET, XML or COM. You will also need project management and report writing skills, in addition to having an extensive knowledge of all appropriate software development techniques, strong software design skills and be able to produce design specifications/prototypes from functional specifications. Knowledge of Installshield would be a benefit.

Candidates will need to be able to work in collaboration with other Development Team members, plan and organise their activities to achieve the completion of projects on time and in full, have good problem solving and good interpersonal skills as well as being self motivated.

Sales Vacancies:

Sales Executive/ Area Sales Manager - Edgecam

We are seeking applications for the above role whose prime focus is to achieve agreed sales targets for the company’s Edgecam product and support services in the Midlands & Ireland.

Reporting to UK Sales Director, your responsibilities will extend to include the execution of the sales strategy, plan and prioritise sales activities within the relevant sales area, developing new customers through appropriate propositions and ethical sales methods. You will also need to maintain and utilise the company’s CRM systems, responding to and follow up sales enquiries.

You will be either an experienced Sales Executive, able to demonstrate a proven track record of achieving sales results, within the CAD/CAM segment or alternatively you will have an Engineering/Support background looking for your first move into Sales. You will need to demonstrate excellent persuasive interpersonal skills, a good understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures as well as experience at determining and identifying prospective customers and their needs.

Sales Support Engineer - Edgecam

Planit is one of the most successful suppliers of manufacturing software in the world. Our Brand offerings include Jobshop, Radan, Alphacam & Edgecam, whose software users exceeds 35,000 companies worldwide.   

We are seeking applications for the above role whose prime focus is to provide technical sales support to UK & International Sales Teams.

Reporting to the International Sales Director, your responsibilities will be to provide technical sales support, in coordination with your team colleagues, by providing professional, high quality, packaged demonstrations for both sales teams and resellers, to include the preparation and creation of benchmarks that will win the technical decision as well as training and supporting the sales teams, customers and resellers.

The role requires excellent interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders, including colleagues within Sales, Support, Development and Marketing as well as externally with resellers, customers and prospects.  A prerequisite is a high degree of technical ability, balanced with commercial awareness, to demonstrate and promote the software and services in such a way that the customer can readily understand the value of the Edgecam solution to their business.

Ideally you will have a HNC/Degree level qualification in an Engineering or Manufacturing discipline.  You must have experience of CAD/CAM in a production environment, strong diagnostic skills, and a technical and working knowledge of the Edgecam product offering.  You must be able to travel extensively both here in the UK and overseas.

Our preference is for candidates residing in the South of England, within easy access of international airports, although all candidates will be considered since the over-riding importance will be the right skills, knowledge and experience.
