Working in our Bath office - A successful Product Owner will command a thorough understanding of the customer’s needs from a business and technical perspective. You will take input from the Brand Manager, sales, support and other groups within the business, as well as external contacts (e.g. OEMs, resellers and end users) to capture business requirements/stories and see them through to implementation. You will be a liaison between business groups and technical groups.
Gather requirements. • Gather release requirements from the Brand Manager and product requirements from all relevant parties including staff, resellers & customers. • Respond to enhancement requests. • Produce and maintain Product Roadmaps for products and components (next release & 3 year view). • Ensure development Roadmaps and the Brand Manager’s external Product Roadmaps are aligned.
Organize and maintain the scrum product backlog • Work with other product owners to manage product backlogs & ensure the backlog is always prioritised. • Prepare for & attend sprint meetings – especially sprint planning & backlog grooming. • Work with development team to create issues for a project.
Ensure development work meets the requirements. • Ensure the development teams success by providing clear well written stories. • Maintain a customer oriented focus in understanding the product portfolio. • Ensure development work is to an acceptable quality. • Give final approval for all development work (including approval testing).
Monitor development progress. • Be available for questions from developers and respond in a timely manner.
Cad or Cam experience especially within sheet metal industry preferred. A development orientated background would be useful as well, appropriate training will be given to the right person.
