Switch to Term Life Insurance
Universal and whole-life policies are much more expensive and offer a subpar investment opportunity. In almost every case, you’ll be much better off with a cheap term policy and more money in your pocket.
Check Out Free Activities in Your Town
Most towns have several wonderful parks, basketball and tennis courts, disc golf and hiking trails available free to the public. Look at your town’s website (as well as those of cities and towns nearby) or stop by city hall to find a list of events going on in the community, many of which are free.
Choose the Appropriate Material
Material cost is one of the most significant drivers of part costs. Be sure to choose your material carefully and use stock sizes. If you are prototyping & designing new products, consider using Aluminum 5052 versus stainless steel or other less expensive material.
Keep Uniform Bend Orientation
Bends in the same plane should be designed in the same grain direction to avoid part reorientation, which will save both money and time. Keeping a consistent bend angle & radius will also make parts more cost-effective.
When planning a vacation this summer, consider camping out under the stars in one of our country's great National Parks. Not only will you save money, but you'll have an unforgettable experience.
Make a Plan Before You Shop
When heading out to do shopping have a list of what you need and a budget for what you are going to spend. Stick to those figures!
Bring Your Lunch to the Office
It can be easy to go out to eat when at work or to stop on the way to work for a morning coffee. If you start your week with some thought on lunches and wake up in time to make a cup of coffee, the savings can really add up.
Childcare - Start a Babysitting "Exchange"
Find other parents with kids your same age and start a babysitting “exchange”. You can watch each other’s children occasionally when you want a night out. This will save on babysitting and allow your kids to have some play time with other kids instead of being stuck at home.
Invest in New Software
Companies who don’t want to look at new software as an alternative to buying a new machine are doing themselves a disservice. Between increased material utilization, less downtime, and more continuity in your parts, software can be a great thing to add to your shop at any time!
