Radan & Wilson Tool Provide End-Users with Opportunities

August 2013 - The 2013 Radan User Group Meeting, which is open to all Radan Customers, took place at Wilson Tool in White Bear Lake, Minnesota on Thursday, August 29th. The full day event provided attendees with the opportunity to see in detail the upcoming release of Radan,  2014 R1, provide feedback to the development team, and gain useful hints and tips on using the software.  In addition to new product release information, attendees learned about the latest logistics products from Radan – Radimport and Radquote and looked at the recently released Global eSupport Community site, which provides customers a forum to share their experiences with others, helping everyone get the most from their Radan investment.

In addition, members of the Radan Staff were available to answer questions from customers regarding support, development and sales.  Attendees also had the opportunity to network and talk with their industry peers.

According to Doug Wood, Sales and Services Director, Radan, “Wilson Tool was a great venue to present the new features of Radan 2014, while also incorporating a presentation from Wilson Tool on the latest developments in tooling technology and a tour of their manufacturing facility. The upcoming Radan release demonstrates significant improvements in work flow and nest projects, including the new Radimport option to simplify connecting with MRP/ERP solutions”.
Radan 2014:
Improvements have been made to simulation and time calculation by moving them into the area where sequences are defined, instead of running the processes based on the NC code. The simulation graphics now include which tools have finished and which are not done, feed rates, and accelerations.

Enhancements to the 3D workflow mean considerably fewer mouse clicks, saving on time and errors. For a single part, it’s reduced to three or four clicks. The same automated process applies to parts for assemblies.

The 2014 release adopts the same common cutting strategy for punching as is used for profiling machines. And there are also enhancements to how Radan manages cluster tools and asymmetric wheel tools.
